Welcome to First Baptist Church of Athens, TX. We've designed this site to help you understand what we're all about. Our goal as a church is to bring the grace of Jesus Christ to the world through relevant worship, empowering people, and meeting needs. Thoughts on the mission statement: We stake our claim on grace. Experience Community
We believe very strongly in community at FBC and have worked hard to make sure everyone in the church is connected in some way or another ot a community of people who love God and love people. The Christian life was meant to be lived in community and the writer of Hebrews even states, "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Global Outreach
We believe God has not only called us to be His hands and feet here in Athens, but that what He's doing here will affect the world. We believe God wants to change the world and we want to be a part! Acts 1:8 "you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, and to the ends of the earth" In our "serving" section you will see that we have opportunites for you to serve locally and globally.
