The Lakota Sioux of South Dakota

Ministry on the Pine Ridge Lakota Sioux Indian Reservation is one of the newest places where you will find the people of First Baptist Church, Athens. My heart has always been for the native Americans and two years ago God brought people into our path to guide us in this journey.

I invite you to read the attached brochure and learn more about the unique problems faced by the people living on the Rez. The needs are great and the work is difficult. We are building relationships and finding local ministry partners to leverage our work to share our Savior with the Lakota people.
