Friendship House @ Townview Apartments

Every Sunday morning, children of all ages meet for Sunday School at the Townview apartments.  The ministry desperately needs more volunteers so the children can be divided into appropriate age groups.  The are needs for teachers but also for folks who can just babysit the youngest children so that they will not disrupt the classes for older children.  If you have a heart for kids and missions, contact Steve Akin, Debbie Leatherwood or Rick Bailey.

Spitzer at his shop on Tuesday morning, 8:30-12:00, to cutout and assemble 25 small bookcases to be given to the children of Las Lomas during the youth mission trip the next week.  ”Books for the Border” is a literacy program our church uses as we minister in the colonias along the Texas/Mexico border.   Each family that attends the fellowship event our young people will provide will be given a bookcase.  Then each child will be allowed to select a collection of books of their choice.  A family with 3-4 children will then have a library of 12-20 books.   We have more books but have given away all of our available bookcases and we need to build more.  It will be a party!  Come join the fun and help boys and girls.  The Spitzer home is at 816 Valle Vista Dr.
